Kentucky Organ Donor Affiliates (KODA) is looking for a full time Donor Center Supervisor to join our team! The Donor Center Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that all donors and potential donor families are offered the opportunity of organ, tissue, and eye donation by functioning as a member of the donor center team. The supervisor also provides coaching and leadership for Donor Center employees and the operational activities related to providing education, supporting families, and coordinating recoveries in the Donor Center department. This position assures that Donor Center operations, such as the evaluation, screening, and recovery of potential tissue and/or eye donors are handled efficiently and effectively, according to KODA and industry regulatory requirements.

Specific duties may include:

  • Performs donor center duties proficiently as an active member of the Donor Center team.
  • Provides supervision and support to Donor Center personnel.
  • In conjunction with the Donor Center Operations Manager and Chief Clinical Officer, assists with and makes recommendations on the recruitment, hiring, training, supervision, and evaluation of Donor Center staff.
  • Ensures adequate coverage for the Donor Center reallocating workers and functioning as a Donor Center Team Member as needed.
  • Assists with the coaching and/or corrective counseling of employees.
  • Assists in the development and work performance of the donor center staff to maintain a motivated and professional workspace.
  • Oversees orientation and training that will assist the employees in achieving enhanced job performance and career objectives. This position will assist with virtual training, classroom learning, and competency testing.
  • Performs audits of documentation, authorization/disclosures, and donor risk assessment interviews to evaluate skill level and provide constructive feedback.
  • Coordinates and maintains donor center staff schedule in collaboration with the Donor Center Operations Manager.
  • Assists with the development and annual review of donor center policies and procedures by providing feedback to the Donor Center Operations Manager.
  • Participates in monthly donor center staff meetings.
  • Collaborates with donor center staff and Operations Manager in process improvement initiatives, team building, and professional development/continuing education.
  • Complies with KODA's Quality Assurance guidelines and participates in routine quality reviews and quality checking (QA) of charts.
  • Serves as a liaison with other departments to improve department knowledge and understanding, improve overall processes and deliver desirable results.
  • Works with Chief Quality Officer and Donor Center Operations Manager with collection and/or analysis of Donor Center metrics to improve efficiencies and processes.
  • Follows KODA's confidentiality policy.
  • Fosters a cooperative work environment that emphasizes teamwork, achievement and KODA's core values and core purpose.

Minimum Qualifications for this position are as follows:


  • Associates degree, medical-related certification, or post-secondary education required.
  • Four or more years of required experience, or related experience within the OPO industry, may substitute education requirements.
  • Minimum of three years' experience in a clinical, OPO or hospital setting required
  • Must obtain Certified Tissue Bank Specialist (CTBS) within first year of hire required and expected to be maintained


  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
