As Kentucky's primary organ procurement organization, we facilitate organ and tissue recovery and serve as the state's primary contact for organ and tissue donation. Kentucky Organ Donor Affiliates is looking for compassionate, accountable, dedicated candidates to join the team as full-time Triage Coordinators in our Louisville, KY Donor Center. Triage Coordinators are responsible for evaluating and identifying potential organ, tissue and eye donors by working with hospital partners, coroners, processors, donor families, and other relevant agencies. Triage Coordinators conduct screening for tissue donation and obtains medical social history by completing the donor risk assessment interview, when appropriate. Additional responsibilities include assisting with logistics of organ and tissue recovery and placement, as well as data entry. The donor center is a 24 hour per day operation, 365 days per year.

These positions are full-time positions and require three 12-hour shifts, or 36 hours per week.

Minimum Qualifications for this position are as follows:

Required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years experience in a clinical health care setting or equivalent

Preferred:

  • Associates degree, Medical-related certification, or some post-secondary education strongly preferred.
  • Patient care assistants, emergency medicine technicians, social workers, or roles in a hospital or pre-hospital settings strongly preferred.
  • Medical terminology and medical abbreviation knowledge.
  • CNA, LPN, EMT certifications, or similar.
  • Strong verbal, written, and telephone communication skills.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize multiple competing tasks and demands.
  • Ability to operate various types of office equipment.
  • Ability to work effectively in stressful situations.
  • Ability to demonstrate KODA's core values of compassion, dedication and accountability.
