The Maintenance Technician is responsible for conducting general maintenance, repairs, and cleaning of facility equipment and property structures to maintain the facilities and common areas in the best possible condition. Under general supervision, the position will help to ensure that heating and plumbing systems perform at optimum functionality and ensure proper service of systems, as well as performing basic repairs to the property.

This is a full-time position and may be required to work overtime as needed. Regular regional automobile travel throughout KODA's service area including Louisville and Lexington, KY as well as Huntington, WV is required.


  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent; and
  • 2-3 years of experience with general maintenance; and
  • Strong understanding of general maintenance processes and methods; and
  • Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and painting. (We don't expect you to know it all!)
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
  • Excellent working knowledge of various types of office equipment, power tools, common commercial appliances, and healthcare facility equipment.
  • Basic understanding of safety guidelines and regulations.
  • Physical Requirements: Sitting, standing, pushing, pulling, lifting, finger dexterity, eye-hand coordination, and visual acuity.
    • Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate various types of office equipment, power tools, common commercial appliances, and healthcare facility equipment.
    • Be able to reach overhead, reach at shoulder level, reach at knee and floor level.
    • Bending, stooping, squatting, crouching, kneeling, crawling, ladder/stair climbing, pivoting, twisting, neck extension/rotation, and using various power tools also required.
    • Handling and lifting of supplies and/or equipment (up to seventy-five pounds).
    • Must have the ability to speak clearly in order to accurately convey information.
    • Ability to hear at normal speaking levels in person and over the telephone.
    • Accurate vision to read computer screens.
